09:30 - 10:30 a.m.  Welcome, Opening Remarks, and Overview (Anthony J. Bajdek, AAFKWP President / Founder)

10:30 - 05:00 p.m.  Conference Titles: "NATO at 70: Alliance and National Perspectives" will occur in the morning session, and "Perspectives on Surviving Without and Despite Allies, Poland 1768-1989" will occur in the afternoon session

Conference Featured Participants: 

Anthony J. Bajdek, AAFKWP President and Founder; Retired Associate Dean and Senior Lecturer in History, Northeastern University, Boston, MA; and Independent Historian. Conference presentation: Association welcome and Conference overview.

Darryl A. Williams, Lieutenant General, United States Army; and 60th Superintendent of the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY. Conference presentation: West Point welcome and opening remarks.

Stephen N. Olejasz, Retired Lieutenant Colonel, United States Army; Former Assistant Professor, Department of History, United States Military Academy, West Point, NY; and AAFKWP Executive Vice President. As morning session moderator, he will introduce all related speakers: 

Frederick "Ben" Hodges, Lieutenant General, United States Army (Ret.); Pershing Chair in Strategic Studies at the Center for European Policy Analysis, Washington, DC; and Former Commander, United States Army, Europe. Conference morning session speaker.

Cezary Wisniewski, Major General, Republic of Poland Army; and Defense Attache, Embassy of the Republic of Poland, Washington, DC. Conference morning session speaker.

Alvydas Siuparis, Colonel, Republic of Lithuania Army; and Defense Attache, Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania, Washington, DC. Conference morning session speaker.

Anthony J. Bajdek, will introduce afternoon session speakers and present his: "Benchmarks of Perspectives on Surviving Without and Despite Allies, Poland 1768-1989"

Alan R. Hoffman, Esq., Lynch, Fink, Labelle, LLP, Boston; Published translator in 2006 of Auguste Levasseur's 1829 opus, Lafayette en Amerique, en 1824 et 1825; President, Massachusetts Lafayette Society; and President of The American Friends of Lafayette. Conference presentation: "Lafayette, Human Rights, and the Polish Revolution of 1830"

Norman Kelker, Ph.D., Retired Research Scientist, New York University School of Medicine; Biochemistry Executive, EMZO Biochem, Inc.; and Independent Historian. Conference presentation: "Herbert Hoover, the Man Who Fed Poland"

Carol Lasata Gargan, Ph.D., Retired Educator, Pennsylvania Public Schools; AAFKWP Vice President; and Principal Activist for the Kosciuska Healing Garden, Scranton, Pennsylvania. Conference presentation: "Two Citizen Soldiers, Two Contimnents, Two Centuries, Two Gardens, One Mission, One World" 

 

   

Kosciuszko Day Observance Schedule (Saturday, April 27, 2019)

09:45 a.m. Annual Kosciuszko Memorial Mass in the Cadet Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity, USMA, West Point, NY

11:30 a.m. USMA Cadet Review on The Plain (i.e., parade ground)

12:30 p.m. Annual Kosciuszko Observance at the Kosciuszko Monument, USMA, West Point, NY

02:00 p.m. Annual Kosciuszko Day Memorial Luncheon, George Washington Room, Thayer Hotel, 674 Thayer Road, USMA, West Point, NY (By prepaid reservation only. See below). Host, AAFKWP President / Founder Anthony J. Bajdek, and speakers yet to be determined, along with a presentation by a Cadet member of the Kosciuszko Squadron of West Point.

NOTE: For children 5 and under, there is no luncheon charge. The luncheon charge for children 6 to 12 is $20. Finally, the post-Conference Friday night dinner is not included in the $50 Conference fee.

Luncheon and/or dinner and/or conference reservation payments must be received at the address below no later than April 19, 2019.

  • Without pre-payments and reservations, no admittance to the Conference, Dinner and Luncheon respectively will be permitted on the day of the event. As such, those wishing to join Association members for the Friday evening buffet dinner at 6:00 p.m. in the Thayer Hotel must also forward payment no later than April 19, 2019 as noted above.
